Summary: After a brief introduction to the prominent Breton composers of the early 20th century, Paul-Andre Bempechat introduces the most important contemporary Breton composer: Pierick Houdy. He studied at the Paris Conservatoire and has worked as a conductor as well as a composer. His works celebrate his Breton heritage. He has written many works for harp including a Quintet for harp and string quartet, a Suite for flute and harp, Sonata for violin and harp, Sonata for solo harp, a sonata for lever harp, Telenn, Concerto francais for harp and orchestra.
