| Summary: | Edna Phillips Rosenbaum, 1907-2003, studied with Florence Wightman and Carlos Salzedo. In 1930 she became Principal Harpist with the Philadelphia Orchestra, a position she held until 1946. She taught at the Philadelphia Musical Academy from 1932-1972 and continued to teach and coach privately. She commissioned numerous works for the harp, including the Concerto for Harp by Alberto Ginastera. Her harp and music are now in the collection at the University of Illinois at Champaign. |
